I CAN students participate and win places in the Tamil Nadu State Abacus competition

The Ideal Play Abacus  Centre (  IPA ) held their 6th Annual Tamil Nadu State level Abacus & Mental Arithmetic Competition recently. The event was  presided by the Chief Guest Sir. Dr.  M.  Ponnavaikko, Vice Chancellor,  SRM University.
Eleven (11)  students from I CAN Centre  participated  in the event held on December 02nd, 2012.

Two  I CAN students walked away with the 3rd prize and three  I CAN students secured the consolation prize.
The  results are as follows:

1.  M. Mohamed Abdul Dastagir       –     3rd Prize (trophy & certificate)

2.  N. Hassan Haroon                           –     3rd Prize (trophy & certificate)

3.  A.Z. Thofia                                        –    Consolation Prize (gold plated medal & certificate)

4.  K. Haaris Ahmed                              –    Consolation Prize gold plated medal & certificate)

5.  A. Aafrin                                           –   Consolation Prize (gold plated medal & certificate)

Sriram, Managing Director of IPA and  at the extreme left is Mr. P. Chithirai Selvan D.F.Tech (Film producer) Guest of Honour.

New Batch. Free Classes for ‘Spoken English, Tally’ and ‘Group Counselling’ sessions

New Batches. 10 sessions of ‘Spoken English’:

We are pleased to announce that 2 (two) batches of Spoken English Classes are being conducted at present with a combined strength of 47 students. This is a 10 session course with emphasis on improving the speaking ability and confidence of students.

‘Tally’ Classes on Saturdays and Sundays:

Tally classes have also begun this month. 2o students have registered in the first batch and classes are held on Saturdays and Sundays.

‘Group Counselling, Goal Setting and Motivation’  OR Counselling and Mentoring for Individuals – by The Director, Mrs.Salma Salahuddin :

In addition, the Director of the ICAN Centre, Mrs. Salma Salahuddin, is also conducting ‘Group Counselling’ sessions for students on topics such as ‘Goal Setting’ and ‘Motivation’.  Students who are interested in these or in individual counselling or mentoring sessions may register with the Director at the ICAN Centre.
